the tundra in which i live has finally melted and it just goes to show you... never fail to see the silver lining. without the frost these absolutely gorgeous peonies could not have blossomed. having lived in florida all my life, i have never seen these before but peonies are definitely my new favorite flower (sorry lilies). ive seen them all over the town and they come is all sorts of colors from white to a very rich burgundy. i saw these baby pink ones on our campus...
and i just had to bring them home with me...
you can't really see the vase that its in but its a round purple one with a mauve undertone thats very unique. i found it at a thrift store for 5 bucks! what a steal!! :) in front you are seeing some vine plant that i bought in the beginning of the year at this grocery store with my roommates. it started out as just a few leaves but the vines are really starting to elongate and sprout little tendrils. im so happy!
the scent of the peonies is absolutely intoxicating and uplifting. so hey, don't forget to stop and smell the flowers... figuratively and literally! no matter what you're busy with... i guarantee you won't regret it.
